Professional History

Gaynor has a degree in Electronics Engineering from DeVry Institute of Technology, Chicago City College and Illinois Institute of Technology.  After working in the process control and building control fields for over 20 years, Dick started his own company, Gaynor and Associates, in 1992 doing computer systems consulting.  They have been in business selling computers, providing service, network support and web design for over 16 years.  Dick's company has clients throughout southern Indiana.

Aviation History

He has been interested in aviation since grammar school days in Ohio, becoming involved early with model airplanes.  In 1992, Dick started FlightSmith Magazine, specifically covering the radio control model airplane hobby.  The magazine quickly branched out to cover full-scale aircraft as well.  And, at the same time, Dick began pilot training.  He is a Private Pilot who has also competed in aerobatics competitions, including a class win of the Illinois Aerobatics Championships in 1999.  His plane is based at Columbus Municipal Airport.
